Remembering Tchaikovsky
Theater 86 collaborates with RACH-C in a lecture about Pyotr Tchaikovsky, conducted by Denis von Meck.
Denis Von Meck, a descendant of Pyotr (Peter) Tchaikovsky and the von Meck family, will present a special lecture about one of the 19th century’s greatest composers and the 25 days Tchaikovsky psent in America. Join us for an insightful evening followed by a reception, courtesy of Russian American Cultural Heritage Center (RACH-C). Please note this lecture will be conducted in Russian language.

The Wizard of Music: Celebrating 180 Years of Rimsky-Korsakov
Best known for his masterpieces Scheherazade and Flight of the Bumblebee, as well as numerous operas, symphonic works, and art songs, Rimsky-Korsakov was a towering figure in late 19th- and early 20th-century music. As a member of the influential group of composers known as The Five and a professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, he shaped an entire generation of composers, including Igor Stravinsky, Sergei Prokofiev, Alexander Glazunov, and others.
